Johnson's Point, Antigua is located on the southwestern tip of Antigua and is known for its secluded sandy white beach on the Caribbean side of the island. It is recognized as offering the best view of neighboring volcanic island Montserrat, glowering in the distance and also for seeing the best sunsets on the island.
All of the surrounding waters are protected by an encircling reef about half-mile offshore, providing tranquil waters good for swimming and snorkeling. The beach at Johnson's Point has also been known as Turners Beach and is a relatively quiet spot with few facilities, which also makes it perfect for lazy sunbathing, or strolling along the sands and making the most of the cooling breezes coming in off the sea.
Johnson's Point, Antigua is midway between English Harbour in the south (25 minutes) and the capital St. John's in the north (25 minutes) and about 30 minutes from V.C. Bird International Airport, making it a great base for exploring the island. Positioned within a friendly community, the area hosts a number of casual, yet popular restaurants including OJ's Restaurant, Gibsons and even small roadside kitchens that draw patrons from far and wide for the daily specials.
Johnson's Point is only 10 minutes drive from Jolly Harbour, a large marina, golf course and villa development. At Jolly Harbour you have access to a number of restaurants and bars, shopping, supermarket, banks, gift shops, art gallery, laundry and dry cleaners, and a swimming, tennis and squash sports complex.
